He is a diplomate of the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK) and the British Institute of Homeopathy and has earned a doctor of chiropractic degree, magna cum laude. Spinal manipulation therapy is designed to relieve pressure on the nerves and reduce inflammation in the body by combining nutrition, diet, meridian balancing, herbs, homeopathy, emotional clearing, exercise, and movement of the joints. To perform this type of treatment, chiropractors apply sudden, controlled force to particular joints in the body, which often results in popping noises that are concerning to some. Despite the sounds, spinal manipulation is considered safe and extremely effective when performed by a trained and licensed practitioner.
The primary goal of spinal manipulation is pain relief and correction of the cause of the symptoms. The treatment usually helps patients relieve some or all of the pain in their back, neck, shoulders, and head.
For many patients, pain relief does not come until after several sessions with a chiropractor, but some patients experience relief in just one visit. Because of this pain relief, some patients can reduce their dependence on pain medications and may even avoid surgery. Patients may also experience the benefit of increased flexibility.
